Labiaplasty is performed within the framework of the day clinic. For the first few days following the surgery, you will experience minor discomfort but you will be able to walk and perform the majority of tasks that are part of your everyday routine.
Patients must ensure that the area of the vulva and the labia is kept clean, washing it with water, chamomile or green soap and avoiding commercial soaps for one week post-surgery. Cold patches will help with the reduction of the swelling. Sutures are absorbable and thus will disappear on their own.
In rare cases, patients may experience mild discomfort for a few months after the surgery.
Labiaplasty complications are rare but as with any surgery, there are still some minor risks. These include bleeding, infection, poor healing, vaginal numbness or a feeling of discomfort lingering over the area.
